IRENE CHRISTOPHER HARRIS (1924-2007)
Irene Christopher Harris, of Belmont, MA., beloved wife of the late William Angelo Harris; sister of the late Christopher J., and Evangeline Christopher; sister-in-law to the late Peter and Irene Harris, and to Andrew and Sandra Harris on November 23, 2007 at 11:30 PM. She was "a mother to all\x94, but her two loving children, Evangeline Harris Stefanakis and Evan William Harris, were blessed by her life lessons. As she told us in her last days, "she just wanted to go home\x94 to the lord and her loved ones in peace. She was an extraordinary grandmother (Yia-Yia) to Rianna, Nikias, Christopher, William (Billy) and Alexandros --complete with the best apple pie made by a Greek American in Boston, MA. Irene (Eirene) was a true Greek Orthodox Christian, who devoted herself to others first and to her faith serving as a leader, choir member and helper to the Watertown Taxiarche Church community and the St. Athanasius Greek community for most of her life. She was especially loved by her godson, John Christopher and the children of her loving brother Chris and his wife Van (Evangeline), Mary Constandakis, Deanna Neinmann, and Jim Christopher, along with her many friends in the Boston and in Florida where she lived. Donations in her name can be made to Taxiarche Greek Orthodox Church of Watertown MA. in support of the ministries for the elderly and the nurse, Ms. Marion Avtges. May her memory be eternal!
