Ioannis "John"
E. Tselios
September 2, 1946 – November 15, 2025
Ioannis "John" Tselios lived a life full of hard work and an unmistakable warmth and personality that drew people to him. Born in Agrinio, Greece, in 1946, he immigrated to the United States in 1961. Living first in New York City before later settling in New Britain, Connecticut. During his time in Connecticut, he briefly returned to Greece to serve in the Greek Army— a reflection of the deep pride he carried for his heritage. John's early career was spent in Restaurants where he worked as both a waiter and a skilled cook. He especially thrived when his father opened a luncheonette in New Britain, a place where his work ethic and easygoing charm naturally flourished. In the early 1970s his family moved to Boston where John discovered a new passion as a florist, spending many happy years working at flower shops throughout downtown Boston. His infectious personality and outgoing spirit made him a beloved figure to business associates and customers alike. He was happiest when he brightened up the days to everyone who crossed his path.
At 21, he married Ann, and together they raised their four children in Roslindale.
John was a true people person and an enthusiastic devoted Boston sports fan— especially during the Larry Bird–era Celtics.
Later in life he returned to restaurant work at his friends local pizza shops, once again becoming a familiar and cherished face in the community.
John's passing leaves a profound void for his family, friends, coworkers, and the many people whose days were lifted by his friendliness, humor, and just by being himself.
