Hope Irene Carras (nee Moschi), 87, of Watertown, MA passed away on July 25, 2026. Hope was born in Boston in 1938 and was the only child of Peter and Paraskevi(Pepi) Moschi (nee Vrontis).
Hope is survived by her loving son, James Carras (Carolyn) of Elgin, IL; her loving daughter, Elaine Menice of Hull, MA and her cherished God-daughter, Vanessa Barges of Westwood, MA. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Michael and her loving companion Christos Karimbakas. She was an adored Yiayia to her seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Alex, Matthew, Drew, Emmy, Callie, and Peter. She is also survived by many cousins and devoted friends.
Hope lived in Watertown for most of her life. With her parents, she grew up in a small home in the west part of the city. Years later, she would remodel that same house and make it her own, to the spend the rest of her years.
As a teenager, Hope was a Candy Striper at Mt. Auburn Hospital and also a librarian at the Perkins School for the Blind. For over 40 years, Hope worked for the Watertown Public Schools, as a teacher and guidance counselor. Always smiling and with a positive attitude, she had many friends. Seldom was a time when she would go out and not bump into one of her friends, and in later years, her friends’ children or grandchildren.
Of utmost pride and joy were her grandchildren. Hope was blessed with seven with whom she was able to make a personal connection. She made each of them feel special every day.
Hope loved to travel and went on many cruises and trips. Meeting cousins in her two trips to Australia, or her many trips to Rhodes, she always treasured every moment.
