Helen (Fortounes) Alex, 97, of Boston passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026.

Beloved wife of the late Charles G. Alex, with whom she shared 54 wonderful years of marriage, and the devoted daughter of the late Vasilios and Sotiria Fortounes.

Cherished mother of Susan Alex-Barton and her husband David Alex-Barton, and her son George Alex and his wife Minnie Kwon; and the loving grandmother of Charles Alex-Barton and Garnet Alex-Barton. She was born on May 11, 1928 in Vassara, Greece. She was an avid reader, enthusiastic theatergoer, and a skilled card player, but was above all devoted to her family and friends. Her warmth, wit, humor, and strength left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Visitation will take place at faggas funeral homeon Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 12-2 pm, with burial to be private.
