Harold Zachariah Kapplow, of Jamaica Plain, died on August 4 at The Armenian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at age 89. Born in Bronx, NY January 19, 1923 to Morris and Ida (Daytz) Kapplow, both deceased, he was also preceded by two brothers, Henry and Arthur Kapplow, and his former wife Barbara Lynn Pasternak. Harold was a lifelong jazz aficionado and humorist, writing for advertising, late night television, as well as a best selling book. He was also deeply committed to strong political ideals, especially regarding diet and health. He is survived by two daughters, Heather Kapplow and Nidal Brahimi, and seven grandchildren.
