Gloria N. Avtgis, of Watertown, Mass., passed away peacefully at home at the age of 83 on January 19, 2016. Beloved wife of Alexander W. Avtgis for 63 years. Devoted mother of Alexandra Quinn and her husband Charles, Peter Avtgis, William Avtgis and his wife Catherine, and Theodore Avtgis and his wife Mary. Devoted Yiayia to 10 grandchildren, Lauren, Jaclyn, Alexandra, Ryan, Daniel, Stephanie, Thomas, Alexander, Stacey, and Aiden, and three great grandchildren, William, Charlotte, and Emmeline. Sister of the late Helen Pittman. She was past president of the Watertown Art Association, and a long time member of the Copley Society. Funeral from the Faggas Funeral Home, 551 Mt. Auburn St., WATERTOWN, MA on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 9am followed by Services in the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Ave., Watertown, MA. Visiting hours on Friday from 4 to 8pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Gloria's memory to Good Shepard Community Care Hospice or to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
