Gerasimos "Maki" Ligouris, 74, of Norwood, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born in Athens, Greece, on July 22, 1948, the son of the late Alexandros and Vasileke. Maki is survived by his wife, Pauline Ligouris, his son, Alexandros Ligouris, and daughter-in-law, Wendy, along with their children, Ava and Alexe. His daughter Vaso Ligouris and Eddie Enos, along with their children Antonio and Teddy. Brother of Roula, Kanella, Georgia, and many relatives, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Maki's personality was contagious, and he was instantly loved by everyone he met. He was a happy soul and was always making others laugh, especially his children and grandchildren. He had a passion for music, mostly singing and playing the drums. He would often join in with the band at family functions and capture the room, instantly having everyone dancing.
He also had a love for animals and had numerous dogs over the years. During his final days, he spent time with an emotional support dog, and whenever they visited together, he would light up with happiness.
Maki was loved by everyone he knew and will be sadly missed.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Saint Nectarios Church, 39 Belgrade Ave., Roslindale, MA, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Funeral services are to immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. The burial will be held following the service at The Gardens Cemetery, 670 Baker Street, West Roxbury, MA.
