Geraldine "Dean" Ellenora Scott nee Thompson On the afternoon of September 26, 2014 Geraldine passed away after an extended illness. She was attended and comforted by family, and staff members at Park Avenue Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Arlington, Massachusetts. Geraldine was 87. Geraldine Scott was born in Bridgetown Barbados on December 23, 1926. She was the third child of Ellenora R. and Joseph A. Thompson. Geraldine's true passion was dressmaking, and after honing her craft she started working from her home. She met her future husband, Reverend George C. Scott while he was vacationing in Barbados. She soon immigrated to the United States and married Reverend Scott on November 6, 1969. They made their home in Cambridge Massachusetts, where Geraldine worked as a seamstress. She was also an active member at Western Avenue Baptist Church. Geraldine is preceded in death by: her parents Joseph A. and Ellenora R. Thompson; husband the Reverend George C. Scott; three of her siblings, George, Marjorie, and Sylvester; Stepdaughters Marie Brown, and Rosa Haynes; and Granddaughter Jill Brown-Rhone. She is survived by: sisters Edith Griffith and Gwendolyn Welch of Barbados; Mary Rose Elder of California; niece Cheryl Villanueva of New Jersey; nephews Glyne Griffith of New York, Asquith and Glyndon Jules of Barbados; granddaughters, Marsha Blankson of Ohio, Leah Ewing and Carol Brown of Massachusetts, in addition to several great grandchildren. A very special "thank you" to the staff at Park Avenue Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, especially to Sheila Sullivan, who embraced Geraldine as family. Geraldine will be cremated and her ashes returned to Barbados for a celebration of her life.
