George Paul Trearchis, 85, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 3, 1929 in New Bedford, MA, to the late Constantine and Frances (Treeful) Trearchis. George proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1954 and then received his BS from Lowell Technological Institute and his MS from Northeastern University. He was Manager of the Food and Drug Industry at The Foxboro Company until his retirement in 1994. George and his beloved wife Thespina (Triantafilou) Trearchis were married for 59 years and lived in Attleboro for over 50 years. One of his greatest joys was being with his family at his cottage in Maine and he was a faithful member of the Greek Orthodox Church. George was the loving father of Charles and his wife Lori (Stackhouse), and Paula and her husband Michael McGeady, and cherished his grandchildren Alexa Trearchis, Deanna Trearchis, John McGeady and Anna McGeady. He was the brother of the late Stella Trearchis Traegde, the late Peter Trearchis, the late John Trearchis and his surviving wife Ellen, Mary Trearchis, Elaine and her husband George Righos, the late Leo Trearchis who is survived by his wife Janet. Loving brother in law of Mary Barbas and her late husband John, Presbytera Helen Coulouras and her husband Rev. Ernest Coulouras, Rev. Nicholas Triantafilou and Presbytera Diane. He was also the loving uncle to many nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, June 7 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of visitation in the Church at 11:00. Burial will be at the Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn, MA, immediately following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's name may be made to either the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 97 Walcott Street, Pawtucket, RI, or the Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, 50 Goddard Ave., Brookline, MA.
