of Arlington, MA, 94 years old, passed at his home on July 4 2018. He was born Nov 3, 1924, at Agoriani Lakonias Greece to John Paicopoulos and Vasiliki Glekas. He was a veteran of the Greek Army during World War II. He was married to Georgia Blanas from Tegea, Arkadias, Greece who passed away in 2000. He is survived by nieces and nephews ,Takis Blanas, Andreas Blanas, John Paicopoulos, George Paicopoulos, Vasiliki Paicopoulos-Tzanoudakis, Kristalo Makrigiannis, Vasiliki Mastrogiannis, Anthoula Paicopoulos, Effie Mihos, Betty Arhaggelidis, and Aikaterini Zevgitis. Brother-in-law of Athanasia Paicopoulos. Also survived by several cousins, grand nephews, nieces and god children. He was predeceased by his siblings: Anastasios Paicopoulos, Spiros Paicopoulos, Dimitrios Paicopoulos, Panagiotis Paicopoulos, Sofia Hronis and Olympia Kalavritinos. He worked as an auto mechanic in the greater Boston area and upon his retirement he served the local Greek American community . He was the founder and president of the Artemis Hellenic American Sportman Association and served as it's president for many years. He was one of the founding members of the Pan Iaconian Society of New England and served as it's president for many years. He was member of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA) . Member of the Greek American Political Club. He organized and participated in numerous events in support of Greek-American community and Greece. Served on the board of the Federation of Hellenic American Societies of New England. Funeral on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 9AM at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Church, 14 Magazine St.., Cambridge, MA followed by Services at 10AM. Visiting hours on Monday, July 9, 2018 at the Faggas Funeral Home, 551 Mt. Auburn St., Watertown, MA from 4PM to 8PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the above named church. Burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington, MA.
