George T. Mavreles of Newton, Mass. entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 28, 2013. He was born in Boston, Mass. Son of the late Theodore and Mary (Psira) Mavreles. He was an aircraft mechanic and was formerly employed at Capital Airlines in New York where he earned the customer service merit award and citation. He returned to Boston and was later employed at United Airlines. He was a beautiful person who had the purest soul. He enjoyed gardening, Greek music, dancing and volunteering for many organizations, especially the Greek Orthodox Church Taxiarchae in Watertown. His life was characterized by his extra ordinary kindness, compassion and love. His life and legacy will live on in the lives of those he touched. He will be terribly missed. He is survived by his sisters, Helen Marios and her husband Vasilios, Eugenia Scaramontas. He was predeceased by his siblings, Anastasia Lagadinos, John Mavreles, Leo Mavreles and Demetria Olga Stern. He was the brother in law of Burton Stern and the late George Scaramontas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral from the Faggas Funeral Home, 551 Mt. Auburn St., Watertown, MA at 10 am followed by services in the Greek Orthodox Church Taxiarchae, 25 Bigelow Ave., Watertown, MA at 11am.
