Loulourgas
November 16, 1940 – December 31, 2023
George D. Loulourgas, of Brighton MA, passed away on December 31st, 2023 in Boston MA, at the age of 83.
George was born in Pythagoreio, Samos, Greece on November 16th, 1940 to Dimitrios and Maria Loulourgas. He had six siblings, and was the youngest of four boys. He led a rich and fulfilling life, leaving a lasting impact on those around him. George was a loving husband to Evagelia Loulourgas for 62 committed years, a devoted and wonderful father to his children Maria, Dimitrios and Fotis, and a doting grandfather to his three grandchildren and great granddaughter.
George is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchild, and three sisters.
George was known for his compassion, thoughtfulness, intelligence and strong moral compass. He was an incredibly likeable and charismatic man, blessed with many talents, endlessly capable, and had an unwavering sense of humor. He always did the right thing and was selfless in his generosity, always willing to help somebody in need. He offered and commanded respect, faced adversity head on, yet managed to find the humor and silver lining in every situation. He taught us to stand tall, be proud, own our actions, and reminded us that anything could be accomplished if we dedicated ourselves. To know him was to love him, and he was loved by many.
He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy will live on in the hearts and memories of his family and those who knew him and loved him. He lived a life worthy of being celebrated, and the world was a better place with him in it.
Church Services will be held at the Archangels Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Ave, Watertown, MA 02472, at 2PM on Friday, January 5th, 2024. Following the Church services, there will be a gathering in the Church Hall for friends and family from 3PM to 4:30PM. A viewing will take place at the nearby Faggas Funeral Home, 551 Mt Auburn St, Watertown, MA 02472, from 5PM to 8PM following the Church. George will then be sent to Pythagoreio, Samos, where he will be buried next to his brothers.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, in memory of George Loulourgas at:
