Georgios S. Antonakas, of Arlington, Mass, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017. He was born in Plomari, Lesvos, Greece. Son of the late Stavros and Pelagia (Almirou). Beloved husband of Irini (Klidaras) Antonakas Devoted father of Stavros Antonakas and his wife Fotini of Glyfada, Greece, Pelagia Fotopulos and her husband Andrew of Arlington, MA, Dimitrios Antonakas and his wife Stratoula of Newton, MA, and Peter Antonakas and his wife Nicole of Arlington, MA. Loving grandfather of Irini, Georgios and Theodoros Antonakas of Glyfada, Greece, Irini and Venetia Fotopulos of Arlington, MA, Giorgios and Panagioti Antonakas of Newton, MA andNiko and Andrew Antonakas of Arlington, MA. Brother of Vasiliki Moutzouri and her husband Ioakim of Plomari, Greece, Irini Deliyiannis of Athens, Greece, Gregory Antonakas and his wife Anna of Australia, and the late Kosta Antonakas. Brother in law of the late Panayiotis Deliyiannis and the late Pelagia Antonakas. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends here and in Greece. He was self employed in businesses in Polmari, Lesvos, Greece from the young age of 17. Late owner of Arlington Bakery, Arlington, Mass. He also worked as a baker and cook at the No Name Restaurant in Boston, Mass. Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 10:30AM at St. Athanasius The Great Greek Orthodox Church, 4 Appleton Street, Arlington, Mass. Visitation prior to the Service from 9AM to 10:30AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Iconography Fund at St. Athanasius The Great Greek Orthodox Church. Burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington, Mass.
