Frieda Katharine Petrowsky (nee Zagzoug), 94, of Lexington formerly of Allston, November 5, 2010, passed away peacefully, having received comforting and loving words from her children and grandchildren. Daughter of the late Antoun and Alia Zagzoug, sister of the late Arthur Zagzoug. Beloved wife of the late George V. Petrowsky, Sr. Devoted mother of George and his late wife Carole, John and his partner Tom Vise, Michael and his wife Susan, Gail and her late husband David Harkins, and Janet. Beloved grandmother of Victor Petrowsky, David, John and Leanne Harkins, Sara and Lisa Petrowsky,Michael and Karen Marchant. Great-grandmother of David Harkins III, Isabelle Jory, J. Adam and Caleb Harkins, Noah Petrowsky,Jeffrey Suereth and John Santos. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was loved by all who knew her. She had nothing but good to say of others. Her kindness transcended pettiness. She inspired many to take the high road. She was proud throughout her life of the unprecedented achievements of her inspirational Girl Scout leader, Amelia Earhart. Her family's decline in fortune during the Depression did not deter her from doing her best by others. She raised a family with astonishing selflessness. She outlived many of her wonderful friends, people with whom she shared much. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New England Home for Little Wanderers. Visiting hours Monday, November 8, 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Faggas Funeral Home, 551 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown. Funeral Tuesday, November 9, at 9:00 a.m., St. Anthony's Church, Holton Street, Allston.
