Foto (Fournarakis) Filandrianos, 84, of Wayland, MA passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 surrounded by loving family. She was born in Boston on July 14, 1929 to Nicholas and Olympia (Louvaris) Fournarakis. She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, James Filandrianos. Foto was the devoted mother of Dr. Theodore Filandrianos and his fiancé Sarah Roberts and Dr. Angela Filandrianos Sykes ad her husband Paul Sykes, R.Ph. She is the loving grandmother of James Sykes, Amanda Sykes, Benjamin Roberts, Zachary Roberts and Eliza Roberts. She is the loving sister of Lillian Anthony, Angela Colt and the late Solon Fournarakis, ad well as the sister in law of Sophia Fournarakis. Foto was a very lovely and intelligent woman who adeptly managed business affairs for her husband's gas station businesses. Those who knew Foto invariably grew to love her and depend on her advice. Above all , she was a generous and caring soul. Of utmost to her most importantance were taking care of her children and grandchildren, James and Amanda. Yia Yia as Foto was affectionately known , was looking forward to when Ben, Zach and Eliza would officially join her loving family as her grandchildren, with Sarah as a new daughter. However, God's will is mysterious and Yia Yia is looking down from heaven above and knows Sarah and the children are part of the family, along with all of her cherished nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her funeral service will take place on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 11am in The Greek Orthodox Church Taxiarchae, 25 Bigelow Avenue, Watertown, Mass. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 2 to 5pm at the funeral home. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend.
