Florence (Pappas) Poe, of Weston, Mass, passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2018. Daughter of the late Costa and Maria (Mihale) Pappas. Florence was born and raised in Watertown, Mass and attended Watertown Schools. She worked as a telephone operator at the Bell Atlantic Telephone Company for many years. Beloved Mother of Kenneth Michael Poe, and Leah Kristine Churchill and her husband Neil Christopher. Cherished grandmother of Ryan Christopher. Churchill, Michael Alexander. Poe, Brandon Francis. Churchill, Nathneil James. Churchill, and Nicklaus Mitchell. Poe. Loving sister of Julia Catherine. Welch, and the late Michael Costa. Pappas, POW, MIA, US Army/Aircorp. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral Service on Monday, Florence loved life itself. She was a true "People Person". She was kind, carding and so generous. She was a wonderful artist. Her passion was cooking, reading, and spending time with her family. She also loved jewelery. She adored her 5 grandsons as well as her children, her sister, and her nieces and nephews. She was devoted to her beloved Taxiarchae Church in Watertown, Mass. and also a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Weston, Mass. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 1PM at Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Ave., Watertown, MA. There will be a brief visitation prior to the Service from 12Noon to 1PM at the church. Relatives and friends kindly invited at attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the above named church. Burial in Linwood Cemetery, Weston, Mass.
