My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever
The world lost a beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Ms.
Flavia Nasuna Kataza, on Tuesday October 06, 2020 at 12:25 AM. Flavia passed
away peacefully and is survived by her seven children, Maureen Birabwa, Collins

Sejjemba and three grandchildren: Linzy, Ian
and Samantha. She is also survived by her two siblings, Gladys
Natembo Nyombi and Jimmy Wasswa.
Flavia was born in Mengo, Uganda on October 14, 1964 as 1 of 9
children, to parents Paul Kizito and Florence Kasiringi, both of whom have
passed away. She got married on May 6th, 1989 to Richard Kataza, they were
together for 25 years and Flavia worked as a stay-at-home mother to care for
her children and extended family which was her passion and delight. Flavia and
her children moved from Mukono, UG to live in Boston, Massachusetts in 2004 to
allow better life opportunities for her family. Her children describe her as
warm, nurturing and able to find humor in any situation. At home, she was known
to start an impromptu dance party in the kitchen or living room to lighten
spirits and celebrate every occasion. Flavia just loved to see people happy and
indeed she is remembered for her easygoing nature, her smile and infectious
laugh. Her friends describe her as a selfless person with whom you would have
an instant connection because of her love for life.
Flavia was a God fearing Christian who was also part of the church
choir of St. Peter's Anglican Church in Belmont, MA. Apart from friends and
family, Flavia also loved Uganda. She never lost her connection with her
homeland, traveling back to visit often to the place where she felt most alive.
While her family is filled with sorrow at her untimely death, they are honored
to be able to accompany her to her final resting place, in Uganda. She
will be laid to rest in Buyonga on Hoima road in Wakiso District.

There Is No Night Without A
Dawning by
Helen Steiner Rice
There is no night without a
dawning
No winter without a spring
And beyond the dark horizon
Our hearts, once more, will sing
For those who leave us for a while
Have only gone away
Out of a restless, careworn world
Into a brighter day.
