In Loving Memory of Evangelos Horiatis

January 17, 1943 – May 4, 2026

With profound sadness, yet with abiding love, we announce that Evangelos Horiatis passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026. Evangelos was the devoted husband of Eleftheria and proud father of Arthur and Steven and their wives Anna and Anna. He was the caring grandfather to Eleftheria, Joseph, Evangelos, Georgios, Isabella, and Michaela, and great-grandfather to Teddy.

Born in Greece, Evangelos came to the United States in 1967 in search of opportunity and a better future for his family. Though he built his life in America, he remained deeply connected to his Greek roots and cherished bringing his family back to Greece over the years so they could spend time with relatives and maintain those family bonds.

Evangelos found joy in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. He loved tending to his flowers and vegetable garden, took pride in his carpentry work, and enjoyed creating things with his hands. During retirement, he looked forward to spending winters in Florida surrounded by friends. Above all else, he treasured Sunday dinners with his children and grandchildren.

A celebration of Evangelos’ life will be held on Friday, May 8, at the Taxiarchae / Archangels Greek Orthodox Church (25 Bigelow Avenue, Watertown, MA 02472). Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., immediately followed by the funeral service and interment.
