Evangelia (Balouri) Kounelis was called by the Lord on December 17, 2019 at the age of 101 years young, plus 105 days. Until her final moment, she was lovingly attended to in her Watertown home of over 55 years, by her only child, Angeline "Angie" Maria B. Kounelis. Predeceased in 1972 by her cherished husband, Evangelos "Angelo" Kounelis. She was the eldest child of the late Costandinos and Maria (Georgian) Balouri of Marmari, Karystos, Greece. Also predeceased by her sisters and their spouses: Olympia and Stelios Anagnostou, Pireaus, Greece; Eleftheria "Ellie" and Dean Manolis, Watertown, MA; Anna Balouri, Athens, Greece and her brother, John, who died in infancy.

Private funeral services were held at the Taxiarchae/Archangels Greek Orthodox Church. Interment was at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge/Watertown, MA.
