Eugenia DiGregorio (née Papaioannou) died peacefully, on June 5, 2017, surrounded by her family, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts at the age of 43. Eugenia is survived by her parents, Pandelis and Anastasia Papaioannou, of Pembroke, Massachusetts; her husband, Matthew DiGregorio, of Holliston, Massachusetts; her beautiful children, Andrianna and Alexander DiGregorio, of Holliston, Massachusetts; her brother, Nikolaos Papaioannou, together with his wife Vasiliki Kalaitzidis and their children, of Newton, Massachusetts; and so many more immediate and extended family. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Donatos and Andrianna Stavrou, of Filiates, Greece, and Ioannis and Alexandra Papaioannou, of Vavouri, Greece. Eugenia was born on October 20, 1973, in Worcester, Massachusetts, to Pandelis and Anastasia Papaioannou. She graduated from Bentley University in 1994 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and earned her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Boston College in 2000. Eugenia had a successful career filled with challenging goals and successes. Spending most of her career at one company, Eugenia built everlasting friendships with her co workers. She married Matthew DiGregorio, the love of her life, on September 27, 2008. Over the nine years they were married, the couple welcomed two beautiful children into their home and set about teaching them how to be strong, independent and compassionate individuals. Eugenia was a kind, thoughtful, person who meant many things to those fortunate enough to know her. To her husband, she was his strength, his confidant and the foundation for their family. To Andrianna and Alexander, she was their snuggle bunny, their warmth, a game player, best Greek book reader, always hugging and kissing her zouzounaki and little man, and the last one to say " " every night - she was their mommy. To her parents a loving daughter to be proud of for her dedication to family as well as her intelligence and successful career. She maintained a strong and close relationship with her brother - one built on shared experiences and fondness that only grew as each married and started a family. A sister-in-law became a sister; someone to discuss thoughts on motherhood. Aunts and uncles who treated Eugenia as a daughter became grandparents to her children. Childhood cousins remained close and bonds grew into adulthood. As each married, their children became loving nieces and nephews that expanded the family outward. Friends valued her friendship and thoughtfulness. Matthew's mother gained a daughter and a considerate, devoted new family member. Eugenia's love, strength, and warm smile will be forever missed by all her loved ones. We will cherish her memory in our hearts and minds, a testament to our eternal love for her. Visiting hours will take place at Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington Street, Braintree, Massachusetts on Thursday, June 8, 2017, 4-8pm. A funeral is scheduled for 9:00am, June 9, 2017 at St. Catherine's Greek Orthodox Church in Braintree, Massachusetts. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Eugenia's life.
