Eric M. Liskin, age 53 of Cambridge died peacefully August 12, surrounded by his loving family and the caring staff of the MIT In-Patient Unit. Eric faced an aggressive cancer with the tenacity, dignity and concern for others that characterized his life. An accomplished potter and a dedicated student of oil painting, Eric's passion for beauty in art, literature and music gave him great strength of spirit and inspired those around him. As Associate Director of Development Research and Systems at MIT, Eric had chief responsibility for documents articulating MIT's impact on the creation of various industries, including biotechnology and the internet. Eric is survived by his treasured wife, Ellen Liner, his father Harold Liskin; two beloved sisters, his twin sister Laurie Liskin and older sister Judith Liskin-Gasparro; his nephews Christopher Gasparro and Daniel Gombert; his nieces Sara Gombert, Andera Liner, his ''adopted'' niece Rebecca Fortgang; his grandniece Kathryn Gasparro; and many cherished firends and kind neighbors of Fresh Pond Place Condominiums. Burial will be private. The family will be sitting Shiva on Saturday, August 16 from 7-9pm; August 17 from 2-5pm, and August 18th and 19th, 7-9pm.
