Elizabeth
Marmanides
March 12, 1973 – December 17, 2020
Elizabeth "Liz" Marmanides, a resident of Stoughton, MA passed away unexpectedly on December 17, 2020 at the age of 47.
Liz is survived by her husband Stellios Kyriakidis; her precious boys, Nicholas and Christopher Kyriakidis; her parents, Nicholas and Parthena Marmanides; her two brothers, John Marmanides and Milton Marmanides; her mother-in-law, Chrissi Kyriakidis; brother-in-laws, Steven Kyriakidis and his wife Anna, and Theodore Kyriakidis and his wife Voula. Liz is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Canada and Greece.
Liz was born in Norwalk, CT on March 12, 1973. She graduated from Manhattanville College in 1994, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor's degree in International Studies. Immediately after college she landed her dream job for the United Nations Association in NY where she worked as a Membership Director for 12 years. Her job at the UN fulfilled her, tapped into all her passions and brought her great joy. One of her greatest accomplishments at the UN was organizing Member's Day with high profile speakers and a few thousand attendees.
She believed education was the most important tool one can receive. Her profound love for learning and personal growth led her to expand her studies where she earned a Master's Degree in International Political Economy & Development at Fordham University in 1999.
Liz was an intellectual, a true nerd at heart. She was a fervent reader of historical fiction novels and was never caught without a book in her bag. She also enjoyed challenging games like Trivial Pursuit and passionate conversations about politics and worldly affairs.
Raised in a loving, Greek home, Liz was very proud of her Greek-Pontian heritage. Her love of Pontian dance and music led her to join the Norwalk Pontian Society dance group, where she competed both locally and internationally for 14 years. She always spoke fondly about the dance group and held those memories close to her heart.
As an avid music listener, Liz loved to sing and dance her heart out to Techno, Reggae, Rock and Pop music. She also loved to travel and was quite the adventurous type – always willing to try something exciting, such as horseback riding, snorkeling, kayaking and speed boat excursions.
In 2007, Liz married the love of her life, Stellios Kyriakidis, moved to Stoughton, MA and even became a Boston Red Sox fan! From this love, her two precious boys were brought into this world. Her children were her life and being their mom was her greatest accomplishment. During this time, she worked as an Assistant Project Manager at Dandis Contracting Inc. and often spoke about her new career and the amazing people she worked with. She also spoke fondly about her new home in MA, as well as all the love, acceptance and great times she shared with her extended family.
Above all, Liz loved her family and friends. She was a friend like no other - loyal, kind, humble, full of wisdom and had a great sense of humor. She was the type of friend who listened and never judged - the type of person who loved everyone unconditionally. She was known for her quick wit, her infectious smile, her remarkable story-telling and her kind, compassionate spirit. Liz was also a devoted daughter and an amazing big sister. She wanted nothing more than her parents to be healthy and for them to enjoy their grand-children. She was also a role model, mentor and hero to both her younger, loving brothers.
There are no goodbyes because her memory will live on and she'll be in our hearts forever.
