Eleni (Panagopoulou) Tsampas, of Stoneham, Mass. passed away, peacefully, on December 9, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born in Patras, Greece to Christos and Olympia (Alexopoulou) Panagopoulou. She came to American in 1966 with her husband Stavros Tsampas and her children. They resided in Boston, Mass before making their home in Stoneham, Mass. Eleni was very devoted to her family and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a loving, caring and gentle person. She was very faithful to God and her church. She always had something cooking on the stove and she made the best french fries. She was an avid Boston Bruins fan and Bobby Orr was her favorite Boston Bruin. She will be sadly missed. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Stavro Tsampas. Devoted mother of Kostantino Tsampas and his wife Debbie, Asimo Atlamozoglou and her husband Yiannis, and Olympia Frazier and her husband Bill. Cherished Yiayia of Amara, James, Constintine, Phaidra, Stavros, Daniel and Katharine. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Her funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 12:30PM at the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 70 Montvale Avenue, Woburn, MA. There will be a brief visitation prior to the Service from 11AM to 12:30PM at the church. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church or to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham, MA.
