Efstathios Sakalis, 87, of Norwood, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025. Born in Alexandria, Egypt. He was the son of Panayotis and Maria (Nakarounas) Sakalis. In 1955 the family moved to Greece where Efstathios worked as a carpenter. He met and married the love of his life Maria Spiropoulos. They had two children, Irene and Peter. In 1976 the family moved to America. They initially lived in Roslindale, before settling later in life in Norwood. He loved spending time with his wife Maria Sakalis, his children and most of all, his grandchildren. He was very loving, kind, generous and always had a smile of his face. He especially loved to make his grandchildren laugh.

He is survived by his beloved wife Maria Sakalis, his daughter Irene Christakis and her husband Chris and his son Peter Sakalis and his wife Julie. He is the loving pappou of George and Stephen Christakis and Efstathios and Paraskevie Sakalis. Loving brother of George Sakalis and the late Antonios Sikallis. Also survived by many relatives and friends here and in Greece.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Saint Constantine and Helen Greek Church, 14 Magazine Street, Cambridge, MA at 11:30AM. Visitation prior to the Service from 10:30AM to 11:30 AM at the church. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Hellenic Nursing & Rehabilitation 601 Sherman St Canton Ma 02021. Burial in Highland Cemetery, Norwood, Massachusetts.
