Effie (Manousarides) Orfanides, 88, of Sharon, MA, formerly of Foxborough, MA, passed away on June 22, 2022.  She was born in Prochoma, Greece. She married, Efthimios Orfanides in the 1950's. They had two children Magdaleni "Betty" Orfanides and John Orfanides.  In 1965, the family came to United States and made their home in Brighton, MA.  in 1966, they returned to Greece and returned to the United States just one year later.  They made their home in Roslindale and then moved to Norwood in 1973. Effie workeda t Teradyne in Boston until she retired in 1989.  At that time Effie and Efthimios returned to their home in Greece for the next 25 years.  Efthimios passed away in Greece in 2004, and her daughter Betty passed away in 2010. A few years later Effie returned to the United States to be with her son John.  Effie loved her flowers and had the most beautiful flower gardens at her homes here and in Greece.  She loved to entertain and cook her delicious Greek delicacies. She loved her children and granchildren and loved spending time with them, along with her great grandson, who she had the opportunity to see and enjoy him for the 5 weeks that she was in Greece this past summer.   She was a social butterfly. She was a devout Orthodox Christian and she attended St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church liturgy every Sunday. She will be sadly missed by those who know and loved her.  She is survived by her son John Orfanides & his fiance Hariklia Papadopoulos.  She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Magdaleni "Betty" Orfanides.  Loving Yiayia of Steliani Tsirnika and her husband Thomas Papakostas and their little son Angelo, Effie Orfanides, and John Orfanides Jr.  She was predeceased by her siblings. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends here and in Greece. Funeral Service on Saturday, June 25,2022 at 10:30AM at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church, 69 Belgrade Avenue, Roslindale, MA. Relatives and friends are kindly invited at attend.  Visitation prior to the Service from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the above named church. Burial in the Gardens Cemtery, West Roxbury, MA.
