Ecaterini 'Kathy' Sturgis (née Ecaterini Satolias), 96, of Watertown, MA passed away peacefully at home on June 29, 2024. She was born in Athens, Greece, daughter of the late Anthi and Theodoros Satolias; sister of the late Anastasia 'Tasia' Scourlas and her husband George.

Kathy came from Greece in 1956 as a foreign student to study English at Boston University.  She met her future husband Nathaniel Russell Sturgis of Weston, MA and they were married in September 1958. They lived in Waban, MA and started their family. They had two daughters, Christine in 1959 and Josephine in 1961. They moved to Wayland, MA in 1966 where they raised their two children.

Kathy traveled back to Greece in the summertime with her young daughters for many years and made wonderful memories for them. She had many friends and loved spending time with them with get-togethers she arranged. She was a faithful member of the Greek Orthodox church and served on the board of the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society. She loved her work as a travel agent for over 30 years and worked into her 80s. She was a world traveler, always looking forward to her next trip.

Kathy is survived by her daughters and their spouses and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 28th from 2-5 pm at Faggas Funeral Home, 551 Mt Auburn St, Watertown, MA 02472.  All family and friends are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Archangels Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Ave, Watertown, MA 02472; or to a charity of your choice.
