Douglas P. Mix, 58, of Winthrop Massachusetts died suddenly and unexpectedly on August 24, 2023.  Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Donald P. Mix, and Margaret P. Mix of West Hartford. After graduating from Conard High School in West Hartford, Doug earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Syracuse University and accepted a position at Bank of Boston as a Foreign Exchange Trader.  Doug quickly discovered that the corporate world was not for him, and together with a college roommate opened Images & Frames Custom Framing in Boston. The business flourished and became the premier frame shop in the Greater Boston area, serving corporate, professional, private clients, and the public for over 20 years.  Doug had mechanical talents, and after selling the business he embarked on a new career path, and became a Millwright. Doug worked on and serviced gigantic turbine engines at power plants all over the country.  He is survived by his mother, Margaret P. Mix, of West Hartford CT , brother Clifton P. Mix and his wife Deborah of Farmington CT, sister Sarah Dormeister and her husband Chris of Soquel, California and nieces and nephews Kelsey Mix of Farmington, CT and Jonathan Mix of West Hartford, and Steffani Dormeister and Taylor Dorfmeister of Soquel, CA  Doug had an enthusiasm and boundless energy which came to an end far too soon.
