Doris Schmidt Young, 92, of Brookline, MA, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2022, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Peter C. Young, devoted mother of Charles Young and his wife Heather, Stephen Young and his wife Julie, Nancy Young Turner and her husband William, Walter Young and his wife Holly, and Dori Young Eisenstat and her husband Paul.

Doris grew up in Franklin, NH during the depression, the daughter of the late Arthur and Ruth Schmidt, and the loving sister of the late Louise Chase, the late Elizabeth Ajemian, and the late Margaret Nadon. After graduating high school, she worked as a secretary to the superintendent of schools in Franklin. She later moved to Boston to work for General Electric. It was in Boston that she met and married the love of her life, Peter Young, and dedicated her life to raising their five children. Together they began the Peter Young Company making accounting systems in a precomputer world. She loved spending time and laughing with her family, especially at their beach house in Hull.  She adored her ten grandchildren, Adam, Emily, Tegan, Holly, Kelsey, Jake, Halle, Kale, Kestrel, and Cooper, who all loved their Grammy/Baca. Doris had the great fortune to live a wonderful life and to be able to be a part of the lives of her cherished great grandchildren, Eliza and Emerson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

We are sad to say goodbye to the most loving and caring person we have ever known but happy to have had the privilege of her love.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, from 5-8 pm at the Faggas Funeral Home, 551 Mt. Auburn St., Watertown, MA. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Forest Hills Cemetery, 95 Forest Hills Ave., Boston, MA at 11:30 am.
