David J.
Dockerty
December 17, 1947 – January 25, 2022
David J. Dockerty " Doc" of Belmont passed away unexpectedly on January 25, 2022. Dave was born on December 17, 1947 in Everett to the late John L. and Mary (Denehey) Dockerty. Loving brother of Elaine M. Mahoney and her husband Michael. Uncle of Mary Kate Petrucci and her husband Brian and Alison Aldrich and her husband Scott. Great Uncle of Hunter, Mackenzie, Charlotte, and Scottie. Also survived by many dear friends. Dave was a retired Massachusetts State Trooper of the 53rd RTT and a funeral director at the Faggas Funeral Home for over 40 years. During his years at the Faggas Funeral Home he became part of the family, where Nick gave him the nickname "Dub". Dave was a loyal and good-hearted man you could always count on him; he was always just a phone call away. While he deemed himself retired from Faggas Funeral Home he could often be found taking a road trip to JFK Airport, he often joked that he should get a place in NY as he was back and forth so frequently. Dave was an avid New England Patriots Fan and never missed a game! He enjoyed trips to Mohegan Sun and his visits to Geno's Autobody for coffee and stopping by the office to check in with his girls. He loved fine dining and would often take his family and friends to some of his favorite spots. His witty personality and quick jokes will be missed by all who knew him. He was a member of the Irish American Club in Woburn and the Woburn Elks. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at St. Patrick's Parish, 212 Main Street, Watertown, Mass. at 10:00 AM. Followed by burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Mass. In lieu of flowers donations in Dave's memory may be made to the above-named church. Late US Army Vietnam Veteran.
