Costas F. Tingos of Belmont, MA, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026 at the age of 91. Husband to Penelopi Tingos, father of Kathryn Lucente and her husband Geoff, Ike Tingos and his wife Artemis, and daughter-in-law Patricia Tingos. He is predeceased by his sister Eleni (infant) and son Frank Tingos. Costas leaves behind his four grandchildren Sophia Girard, Kostas & Chloe Tingos, Matthew Tingos, his sisters Georgia Kapourelakos, Pauline Deamantopoulos, Aphrodite Stamatakos and her husband George, and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Born in Vresthena, Laconia, Greece, Costas developed a love for nature, spending his days gardening, hunting, and farming. He had an appreciation for the simplicity of life. Proud of his heritage, Costas frequently shared stories about his adventures in the village and love for his homeland.
Costas immigrated to the United States with a stop in Chicago before settling in Boston. In keeping with his childhood love of cooking, he owned and operated multiple restaurants throughout his working life including Peter’s Lunch and Backwoods Pizza. He deeply enjoyed gardening and left behind many bountiful fruit trees. Costas was a devout member of the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church, the Vresthena Society, and AHEPA. Above all, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at The Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church at 12:30PM. Visitation prior to the Service from 11:30AM to 12:30PM at the church. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Ave, Watertown, Massachusetts, MA 02472
