Constantine N. "Gus" Doukakes, of Lexington, MA, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2020. Gus is survived by his wife of 27 years, Gloria (Proakis) Doukakes. He is predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Mary (Tsalikis) Doukakes, sisters, Florence Heiser and the late Athena Beshere, wife Anna (Douglas) Doukakes and their daughter Maria Doukakes Lumb . Gus was the brother in law of John Proakis and his wife Felia, and Anthony Proakis and his wife Gloria. Loving uncle of Paul Heiser and his wife Pia, John Beshere and his wife Barbara, Chris Beshere and his wife Sherry, Robert Beshere, Nikki Beshere Minnis and her husband Barry, George Proakis and his wife Lisa Loveland, Elena Proakis Ellis and her husband Neal, Lisa Proakis Stone and her husband Melvin, Andrea Proakis, and Steven Proakis. Also survived by many grandnieces, grandnephews, other relatives and friends.

Gus was born on July 17, 1927 in Braddock Pennsylvania, grew up on Mission Hill in Boston and in Watertown.  He served in the US Navy at the end of World War II and the US Army during the Korean War. Gus was a long-time resident of Lexington and an active member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. He worked for many years at the Doukakis/Corsetti Insurance Agency, which he co-founded in 1979.

As a result of the ongoing health crisis in the world and with genuine concern for the people whom they love, funeral and burial will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
