CLARA ESPOSITO Clara Rose Esposito (nee Mercugliano) passed away peacefully at age 93 after being surrounded by her daughters and their spouses, their children and grandchildren. Formerly of North Haven, CT, and Arlington, MA, she had been a resident of Epoch Senior Healthcare of Chestnut Hill, MA, since February, where she made many friends and always looked forward to Bingo and musical Fridays. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent R. Esposito, formerly a sound consultant to Frank Sinatra. When "Nanny" was not at home cooking, she was running her Whitney House Antiques Shop and welcoming her grandchildren. Best known for her famous lasagna, secret biscotti recipe, and bringing together family for holiday parties, she traveled often with her husband. Some of the celebrities whom she enjoyed seeing included Frank Sinatra and his mother Dolly, Tony Bennett, Paul Anka, David Frost and the trio Peter, Paul, and Mary. A large family Clara Esposito is survived by three daughters including: Rita Watson of Providence, RI, Lois and David Ardito of Arlington, MA, Deborah and Jeffrey Steady of Thaxton, VA. All of her children and grandchildren were with her during her final days as well as the extended family of Louise and Ed Tsoi and Agnes Scannell. Her family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren - all of whom visited with her - include: Jude Ardito and Lynda of Andover, MA, parents of Grace and Tyler. Carrie Johnson and Ignatio Fanlo of San Francisco, CA, and Zachary Johnson. Jeremy Watson and Ruth of South Burlington, VT, parents of Connor and Clara Emily, who was named in honor of both grandmothers. Joshua Watson and Heather Repicky Watson of Charlestown, MA. Also with Nanny was William R. Watson of Mt. Vernon, NY, father of Jeremy and Joshua. Dylan Bruntil and Heather of Sharon, MA, parents of Colby and Ayla. Bennett Bruntil and Jennifer of New Paltz, NY, parents of Maron and Brooke. Alex Steady and Kristin of Lynchberg, VA, and little Michael. Nanny was blessed by all of their love and visits. Funeral service A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 5 Linden Place, Brookline, MA, at 10:30 AM, on Thursday, July 25, 2013. The Mass will be concelebrated by Fr. Brian Clary, St. Mary's pastor who celebrates Mass at Epoch, and Monsignor John Darcy of St. Sebastian Church in Providence.
