Christos C Karimbakas's Obituary

Christos Karimbakas was born September 7, 1939 in Boston, MA. He was the eldest son of Charles and Athanasia Karimbakas. He graduated from Boston Latin School, earned an engineering degree from Northeastern University, and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University. Chris then served as an officer in U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. While on leave from the Army in 1965 he met his wife-to-be, Joyce Kalton of Somerville, MA at the Hilton Hotel in Athens, Greece. They married on October 26, 1969. An entrepreneur, Chris owned and operated several businesses during his life including a welding company, health and beauty aid stores, and the 7-11 on Charles Street in Boston. For the last 33 years, he has owned and operated Antronics, Inc., with his brother and business partner Jim. He was a loyal friend and a dedicated member of the church as well as many veteran organizations. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially around the dinner table. He was the beloved husband of the late Joyce (Kalton) Karimbakas. Devoted father of Joanne Karimbakas and her husband Richard Bonnette and Charles Karimbakas and his wife Maria. Cherished grandfather of Olivia and Nora Bonnette and Emily and Kate Karimbakas. Brother of James Karimbakas and his wife Frances, and Anna Tsikouras and her husband James. Also survived by his dear friend Hope Carras, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral Service on Wednesday January 30, 2019 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral of New England, 514 Parker Street, Boston, MA at 10:00 am. Visiting hours are on Tuesday January 29, 2019 at the Faggas Funeral Home, 551 Mt. Auburn Street, Watertown, MA from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, c/o the Pappas Family Research Fund for Pancreatic Cancer, and sent to the attention of Hillary D. Repucci, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute & the Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445-7226. Interment in Highland Meadow Cemetery, Belmont, MA.
