Charlie grew up on Belmont Street and graduated Somerville High School. At 14 years old his love for movies and photography began when he started helping in a darkroom and working the movie projector at a local theater. He could always be found by pangari greeting families as they entered the narthex of the church. He assisted the priest with many daily tasks for sacraments of parishioners. In addition, he enjoyed his early morning coffee with friends at the local coffee shop, walking through Boston taking photographs and holidays with family.
