Charles ''Sam'' G. Samios, 72, of Sun City Arizona, formerly of Cambridge died at home on February 10, 2005. He serviced in the United States Airforce as a member of the 318th Fighter Intesceptor Squadron where he was the recipient of two medals. He served during the Korean War.
In 1964 he established Cambridgeport Welding with his partner, Nick Kokkinis. They worked together until his retirement in 1990. His son in law, Jerry Gambino, continued the partnership.
Sam enjoyed trapshooting and won numerous awards. He was a lifetime member of ATA, Shirley Rod adn Gun Club and Minuteman Rod and Gun Club. He most recently traveled across country in 2004 to attend state shoots. He was a member of Shoshone Indian Tribe of Pocatello, Idaho and was able to visit there last June at the Silver Buckle Shute.
He spent months visiting with his children and all of his grandchildren.
Sam is survived by his children, Patricia Gambino and her husband Jerry, Vicki Kennedy and her husband Jeff and Dianna Peterson and her husband Karl and Charles G. Samios, Jr. and his wife Lisa. He is also survived by his grandchildren John Gambino, Kyle and Kelsey Kennedy, Samantha and Olivia Peterson and Keately, Nicholas and Christopher Samios. He is also survived by his sister, Diane Brewer and her husband Bob and three nephews, Bruce,Jim and Chuck Brewer.In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or Ducks Unlimited.
