Catherine Kafalas, 91, of Watertown, Massachusetts, died on April 5, 2014 at Coleman House in Northborough, Massachusetts. Catherine was born in Newburyport, Massachusetts and grew up in Newburyport, graduating from Newburyport High School in 1940. Catherine, a resident of Watertown for more than 50 years, had a successful career with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Employment Security, retiring in 1982 after 40 years of service. She was active in the Taxiarchae Church community, serving on the Philoptochos Society for many years. Catherine was well-loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was always there to lend a hand and will be remembered for her gracious willingness to help others. Catherine is survived by her sister-in-law Eleanor Kafalas of Sudbury, 12 nieces and nephews, and 13 grand nieces and nephews.
