Athanasios Maloutas,78,of Somerville, MA, passed away on May 30, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born in Servia, Kozani, Greece. Son of the late Kleanthes and Marianthi (Lepidas) Maloutas. He and his wife came to United States and made their home in Somerville, MA. They raised their two children in Somerville.  He worked as a chef at Brothers Deli until his retirement.  He loved his family and spending time with them.  He enjoyed cooking, gardening, was an avid sports fan and beside him was always his beloved dog Dino.  He enjoyed vacationing in Greece.  He was a devout Orthodox Christian.

He is survived by his beloved wife  Ekaterini (Koutsianopoulou) Maloutas. He was the devoted father of Maria Maloutas, and the late Kleanthes Maloutas. Loving brother of Aspasia Kissas and her husband Angelo, and the late Miltiadis Maloutas and the late Panagiotis Maloutas. Loving brother in law of Eleni Adamidou, Kostas Koutsianopoulos and Vasiliki Maloutas. Also survived by many nieces, nephews , relatives and friends here and in Greece.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 11AM at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 29 Central Street, Somerville, MA. Visitation prior to the Service from 10AM to 11AM at the church. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.  In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the above named church.

Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA.
