Astero (Arvanitis) Markopoulos, 102, of Canton, Massachusetts, passed away on January 9, 2014 at the Hellenic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Wife of the late Anastasios Markopoulos. Devoted mother of Vaso Salapatas, Nikolaos Markopoulos and Soula Lefas and her husband Dennis. Loving mother-in-law of Nikos Tasiopoulos. Loving Yiayia of Louie Tasiopoulos, Tasos Tasiopoulos, Stavros Salapatos, Tasos Salapatos, Elias Lefas and Gigi Gregoriadis. Also survived by 12 great grandchildren and many relatives and friends here and in Greece. Astero's funeral service and burial will be held in Megalopolis, Greece on Friday, January 17, 2014. There will be a visitation on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 North Main Street, Randolph, Mass. from 3 to 6pm. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend.
