Apostolos
Athanasiou
December 3, 1934 – October 30, 2022
Born in Athens Greece in 1934, he experienced World War II as a young boy and went into the Greek Merchant Marines as a young man where he spent almost 20 years traveling every ocean around the globe and visiting countless ports. He met and married the love of his life, Ioanna, in 1967 and just a few years later in 1971 they decided to embark on a new journey to America for a better life. They settled in Raynham, MA with their four children establishing himself as a pillar of the community and the well-known proprietor of Raynham House for over 35 years. Apostolos had an infectious personality in the most subtle and humble way, an unmatched work ethic, and a very generous and giving soul. The love he had for his wife, children and grandchildren was unsurpassed and he will be missed beyond measure.
Son of the late Dimitrios and Violeta (Veneris) Athanasiou. Beloved wife of Ioanna F. (Efstradoudakis) Athanasiou. Loving father of Maria Cross and her husband Andrew Craig, Dimitrios Athanasiou, Anastasios Athanasiou and his wife Jennifer, and Vasiliki Warren and her husband Robert. Loving Papou of Angelina Sophia Cross, Lukas Apostolos Cross, Paul Jacob Athanasiou, Zoe Fotini Cross and the late infant Robbie Warren, Jr. Brother of Christos Athanasiou and his wife Olga, and the late John Athanasiou. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends here and in Greece and Australia.
