May 9, 1940 – June 15, 2023
Anthoula (Salimbas) Vrahliotis of Watertown, MA passed away on June 15th 2023 at the age of 83. Anthoula was born on May 9, 1940 in Krokees, Greece. The daughter of George and Stavroula Salimbas, and sister of: Aggeliki Kartsagoulis, Ioannis Salimbas, Dimitrios Salimbas, Eleftherios Salimbas.
She met her husband John Vrahliotis, married and began a journey in life that took them to Australia, Greece, Canada, and eventually Boston, Massachusetts where they raised three children- Spiros, George and Ourania (Tina).
She is survived by her son Spiros Vrahliotis and his wife Dora of Watertown, George Vrahliotis,
Tina Vrahliotis, 9 grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews and close friends who have been with her since she immigrated to Boston in 1970.
Anthoula took great pride in the hard work that she engaged in with her husband. Proud owners of Beacon Cleaners in Brookline, Mass. She often shared her struggles and triumphs of immigrating to a new land. Despite the hard work she always found time to make her koulourakia for her grandchildren, and boy did they come running when they got that call!
She will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at Saint Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church-14 Magazine Street Cambridge, MA 02139 on Saturday June 24, 2023 at 11 am. Visitation in church prior to the funeral service from 10-11 am
Donations in her memory may be made to Saint Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church.
There will be a reception following.
