Anthony J.
Morris
April 12, 1931 – September 18, 2024
With heavy hearts, we regretfully announce the passing of Anthony "Tony" John Morris, of Bedford, Mass., who peacefully passed away on September 18th, 2024. Tony was a man of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every opportunity he had to make those around him smile.
He brought immeasurable joy into the lives of all those who knew and loved him. Tony, the son of Stephen and Mary (Makaratji) Morris, was born and raised with his three siblings in Roxbury, Mass. When Tony was 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he would proudly serve his country for the better part of a decade. After that, Tony married his beloved wife of 53 years, Maria (Mirogiannis) Morris of Pligoni, Lesvos, Greece; together they welcomed and raised three children.
Tony will be deeply missed by his two sons, Stephen and James as well as his daughter Stephanie and her husband, Michael. He is the loving grandfather of Nicholas, Alexis, Melina, Asimina, Dimitri, Sophia, Anthony and Maria. Tony is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family warmly invites relatives and friends to attend the funeral services which will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 17 Meriam Street, Lexington, Mass. Visiting prior to the funeral service will be held from 9 A.M. to 10 A.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church c/o Clergy Discretionary Fund.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, Mass. and the Care Dimensions Hospice House, in Lincoln, Mass., and Dr. Misha Dad, who took such good care of their beloved father and Pappou while he was in the hospital. They will be forever grateful.
