Anna
Iatridis
January 24, 1957 – January 29, 2020
Anna Iatridis, of Boston, MA, passed away surrounded by loved ones on January 29, 2020, after a 4-year battle with cancer. She will be buried near her mother Mary Iatridis, and her father Demetrius Iatridis, in Newton Cemetery, close to her childhood home. She is survived by her husband, Christos Zahopoulos, her two children, Victoria and Minas, and her son-in-law Christopher Allen. She is survived by her three siblings.
Anna was born on January 24, 1957, in Philadelphia, PA. In 1959 her family moved to Athens, Greece, where she spent her formative years. In 1967, her family relocated to Newton, MA, which came with many challenges. Anna earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Boston College and a Master's in Business Administration from Simmons College. With quick wit, ambition, tenacity and hard work, she later became Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Eastern Bank and Brookline Bank and went on to excel as Senior Vice President and Director of Retail Banking of Slade's Ferry Bank in Somerset, MA. Anna placed the utmost value on the foundation of relationships with employees at every level of the business.
Proud of all she had accomplished in the world of banking, Anna realized she could also make a career out of her passion for fitness. Over the years, she infused her spirit and vibrancy into the classes she taught and cultivated life-long friendships along the way. Those who taught alongside Anna, and took her classes, felt the unique spark she lit in all of us.
Anna's husband, Christos, was her partner for 27 years. She loved being married, and through all the ups and downs of life, she believed that Christos helped her to become a better person. Above all else, the thing she loved most was being a mother to their two children.
Funeral Service will take place on Monday, February 3, 2020 at Newton Cemetery Chapel, 791 Walnut Street, Newton, Massachusetts at 11:30AM. Visiting hours prior to the Service at the Chapel from 10AM to 11:30AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
