With great sadness we announce the death of Angelo Jaravinos, 97 years old, on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. He was much beloved by his family and friends. Predeceased by his devoted wife Catherine (née Eliopoulos), parents Peter and Nota Jaravinos, brother Charles Jarvis and sister Mary Jarvis. He is survived by his sisters Stella (Annie) Antipas and Kaye Jaravinos. He leaves his heartbroken daughters Toula Halperin (John) and Vicki Harshbarger (Karl), his grandson Daniel Halperin (Jennifer), granddaughter Katherine Harshbarger, and great granddaughter, Evie Halperin. Angelo was a very hard worker, instilling in his children the strong moral values of honesty, loyalty, and commitment to family. We will always admire his belief in fairness and justice, his candor, and his spirit of determination. His quick mind kept him engaged with the world around him. He loved to read the daily newspaper, completing the entire NYT crossword puzzle. He also enjoyed listening to his music and watching DVDs of old television shows. He loved animals, especially the family pets, Bubba and Lucy. He spent his final decade in the loving care of his daughter Vicki and son in-law Karl Harshbarger. The family thanks his many devoted caretakers who have tended to him. He will be greatly missed. Funeral Service on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2104 at 10:30 AM in the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Ave., Watertown, MA. There will be a brief visitation prior to the Service from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the church. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the MSPCA, Mystic Valley Elder Services or Intercity Home Care. Burial in Forest Hills Cemetery.
