Angelica "
Lee" Christo
July 20, 1951 – January 27, 2025
In Loving Memory of Angelica "Lee" Christo (Avery)** July 20, 1951 – January 27, 2025 With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Angelica "Lee" Christo (Avery), who left us too soon, peacefully and surrounded by those she loved most. Lee was a cherished sister, aunt, and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born and raised in Watertown, MA, to Charles and Anastasia (Zevitas) Avery, Lee's roots in the town shaped many of her cherished memories.
Known for her strong-willed nature and unapologetic authenticity, Lee had an immeasurable impact on her family—especially in helping raise her nieces and nephew. She is survived by her sister, Jan Siannas, and her husband Thanasi; nieces Maria Thigpen and Stacey Langill and husband Mike, and nephew Spiro Siannas and wife Beth. Lee's family was her greatest pride; she wore the title of "Auntie Lee" like a badge of honor. Lee helped shape their lives with love and practical wisdom in ways they'll carry with them forever. While her sister, Jan, was always more reserved and gentle, Lee was the bold, direct, and steadfast influence. Her mottor of "family first" was not just a saying – it was her life's work.
As 'the kids' (Maria "Pokey," Stacey "Souli," and Spiro "Spike") grew up and had children, Lee imparted the same wisdom on her great-nieces and nephews. From the very start, she gave each a special nickname: Glenn 'Whitey,' Johnnie 'JB,' Gianna 'Princess,' Mia 'Number 1,' Charlie 'Chacha,' Scarlett 'Zoeitsa,' and Thanos. Lee's legacy lives on through the powerful lessons she shared: "Family first," "Don't take shit from anyone," "Be true to yourself," and "You only get one life, so live it fully". Unapologetically herself, she stayed true to her values and lived life on her own terms until the very end, even if it meant breaking some rules along the way.
Beyond her family, Lee lived with fierce independence. She had a passion for classic Western films, loved playing blackjack, and never went anywhere without a Pepsi (never a Coke). Her favorite color—black—mirrored her straightforward approach to life. Lee also treasured the nights spent at Greek nightclubs that connected her to her heritage, where music and dance reminded everyone that life is for enjoying every moment. Her love for Kalamata, Greece, reflected her deep connection to her roots. Spending many summers there with family, she felt truly at home. Lee's enduring love for cats was also well-known—she often referred to her two cats as "her babies," a source of comfort and companionship throughout her life. Her passing leaves a gap that cannot be filled, but her spirit lives on through the countless lessons she imparted. In every story, every memory, and every piece of advice she shared, Lee showed us what it meant to live authentically, to love unconditionally, and to never back down from being who you truly are.
Though she is no longer with us, Lee's lessons will echo in the hearts of her family and friends. She will always be remembered as a woman who lived boldly, loved fiercely, and believed in the power of family above all else.
