Andrew Curtis Norton, age 21 years, 8 months and 26 days passed from this life to Eternal Life on March 7, from natural causes. Andrew was born on June 9, 1992 in the Park City Hospital in Bridgeport, CT. When Andrew was 2 months old he moved to Sicily in Italy and lived there for 3 years. In Germany he was diagnosed with autism and in 1995,the family moved to Gaitherburg, MD and where Andrew attended early intervention classes at the Meadow Hall School in Rockville, MD. In July 1998, Andrew moved to Port Republic, MD and has lived near Broomes Island Road for 15 years. In Calvert County, he attended Special Needs classes at the Calvert Country School for 15 years where he was known as the "gentle giant" for his smile and easy-going ways. There he participated many times in the Special Olympics Field Day and would dance with his mom at the annual Homecoming Dance. He learned maintenance work and graduated in June 2013 with a part -time job at Direct Mail. Andrew started with ARC in July 2013 where he continued with his part/time job. He attended St Cosmas Orthodox Church in Lanham where he will be deeply missed by a clergy and congregation that cherished him. He loved his mother and father and especially loved swimming and walking at Calvert Cliffs, Hallowing Point Park and North Beach boardwalk, He loved taking rides with his dad and mom, watching the Muppetts, and making toys out of everyday items. Andrew will be remembered by his Papu Charles Norton Sr, Mom and Dad Joan and Charles Norton, aunt Susan Norton, aunt Janis and Uncle David Castagnetti, Uncle Frank and Aunt Joyce Chimbole, Uncle George and Aunt Mariann Chimbole and cousins Anthony and Jessica Castagnett Visiting Hours will be held at Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Brookline MA from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday March 10. The Funeral Service for Andrew will be held there at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 11. Andrew we'll be buried at the Gethsemene Cemetery In West Roxbury, MA near his grandmother Sophia Norton.
