January 23, 1929 – September 10, 2024
Andrew A. Harris, of Waltham, MA passed away on September 10, 2024. He was born in Somerville, MA to Angelo and Adonia (Koutsoulis) Harris. The family moved to Watertown and raised their family. He graduated from Watertown High School and attended some college. He began working as a food broker and then left to pursue his own dreams, building and managing residential apartments in Waltham, MA. He married the love of his life Sandra J. (Thomas) Harris, and they lived briefly in Watertown and subsequently moved to Waltham where they began a family and raised their two sons, James A. and Paul C. Harris.
Andrew was a devout Orthodox Christian and a member of the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church in Watertown, MA where he served many years as Parish Council President. He was instrumental in the construction of the community center as well as the construction of the balcony in the church.
After retirement he enjoyed spending summers in New Seabury and winters in Highland Beach, Florida. He was an avid golfer. He loved spending time with his family.
His kindness and generosity to his family, church and friends will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Sandra J. (Thomas) Harris. Devoted father of James A. Harris and his wife Lisa, and Paul C. Harris. Cherished Papou of Justin M. Harris and his wife Ella, Ryan J. Harris and his wife Mikaela, and Kiley M. Harris. Brother of the late Peter Harris, William Harris, Georgia Harris, and Mary Harris. Brother-in-law of Jane V. Thomas and her late husband George Thomas. Also survived by many friends and relatives.
Funeral Services to be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church,25 Bigelow Avenue, Watertown, MA at 10AM. Visitation prior to the funeral from 9AM to 10AM at the church. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the above-named church. Late Member George K. Menichos Post #324, late National Guard. Late Parish Council President Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church, late member Oakley Country Club. Interment at Mt. Feake Cemetery, Waltham, MA.
