Stamos
July 19, 1948 – September 9, 2024
Anastasia Stamos, 76, of Belmont, MA, passed away unexpectedly on September 9, 2024, while vacationing in her beloved Athens, Greece. Born in Athens to Leonidas and Elefteria Paschalis, Anastasia immigrated to the United States, where she married Michael Stamos. Together, they made their home in Belmont, MA, where they raised their two sons, Nicholas and Angelo.
Anastasia was a dedicated member of the Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church, where she taught Greek school for over 35 years. Her students cherished her as much as she did them, and she was known as a beloved teacher who had an immeasurable impact on their lives. Her passion for education and the Greek language, combined with her genuine care for her students, created lifelong bonds.
In addition to teaching, Anastasia found joy in cooking, especially her famous baklava, and traveling. She had a gift for making friends wherever she went and loved capturing moments through photography. Her warmth, kindness, and vibrant personality touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Anastasia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael Stamos. She is survived by her sons, Nicholas Stamos and his wife Tracy, and Angelo Stamos and his wife Natalia. She also leaves behind many relatives and friends, both in the United States and Greece, who will deeply miss her presence in their lives.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 10 AM at Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church, 25 Bigelow Avenue, Watertown, MA. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 4 PM to 8 PM at the same location. Relatives and friends are warmly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Taxiarchae Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow at The Gardens Cemetery, West Roxbury, MA.
