Obituary

Anargiros P. Karalis, 95, of Framingham, Massachusetts passed away on July 15, 2026 surrounded by his family.

Early in life, he proudly served in the Greek military and trained as a cobbler in his hometown of Vassara, where he developed a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and hard work.

In 1963, he immigrated to Boston, Massachusetts, in search of new opportunities. Alongside his three siblings, he owned and operated Famous Pizza in Framingham for much of his working life, earning the respect of customers, friends, and the community through his dedication and tireless work ethic.

A lifelong vegetable and flower gardener, he found great joy in cultivating his gardens and generously sharing their bounty with family, friends, and neighbors. In retirement, he looked forward to returning each summer to his beloved homeland, where he reconnected with family and friends and the village that always held a special place in his heart.

Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his beloved wife, children, and eight grandchildren. He took immense pride in passing on his Greek heritage, traditions, Orthodox faith, and stories of village life, ensuring that future generations would remain connected to their family's roots. His love, wisdom, and example will continue to live on in all who knew him. His favorite saying that will live on in his grandchildren's life, "θα σε δώ στο πλοίο!"

"We will meet again!"

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Christina (Zacharakis) Karalis; his loving and devoted children, Maria Karalis, Peter Karalis and his wife Argyro Nikoletos, and George Karalis and his wife Vicki; cherished Pappou of Christiana Dakoyannis, Stephania Dakoyannis, and Matthew Dakoyannis and his fiancé Victoria Tortora, Nikolas Karalis and Christina Karalis, Andrew Karalis, Marina Karalis, and Alexi Karalis.

Loving brother Georgia Stavropoulos, Evristhenis Karalis and his wife Angela, Nikoletta Trogos and her husband Stelios, Spiro Karalis and his wife Potula, Potula Kritikos, and the late Dino Karalis.

Loving brother in law of Anna Karalis, Nick Xintaropoulos and his wife Voula, Efstathia Tsoubanas, Nafsika Zacharakis, and the late Gregory Zacharakis, the late Peter Zacharakis and his late wife Demetra, and the late Kanella Koutroubis, and her late husband, Rev. Fr. Stavros Koutroubis.
