Amir Hooshang Hashemi of Newton, beloved husband of Gelareh Riahi and devoted father of Yasmine and Nika Hashemi passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 15, 2013 after a heroic fight with cancer. Amir was born in Dec 1960 in Tehran, Iran. He received his PhD in Computer & Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University in 1997. His last position was Chief Solution Architect at Ameriprise Financial. He is survived by his beloved wife Gelareh and daughters Yasmine and Nika as well as brother Pirooz Hashemi and sisters Tabandeh and Nasreen Hashemi. Amir is further survived by relatives and friends who are respectfully invited to attend his memorial service on Sunday June 2nd 2:30 - 6 PM at Wellesley Community Center in Wellesley MA.
