Alexandros K.
Loukeris
March 18, 1935 – January 23, 2025
Alexandros K. Loukeris, 89, of Burlington formerly of Arlington, MA passed away in the early morning of Thursday, January 23, 2025. He was born in Lixouri, Kefalonia, Greece to Eleni (Livieratou) Loukeris and Konstantinos Loukeris. He was the youngest of eight children and the apple of his mother's eye. He and his family survived the Great Ionian Earthquake of 1953 and learned hard work, humility, and grace while under great adversity.
He married the love of his life, Polyxeni "Loula" (Tollos) Loukeris, and they shared 65 beautiful years. They raised two children, Elizabeth & Charles. Aleko & Loula came to the United States in 1973 with their children to create a better life. They worked hard and did just that; Aleko was the proprietor of Burlington House of Pizza. After his retirement, he worked alongside his son at Charlie's restaurant and pizza place.
Aleko enjoyed his family, whether having drinks with his daughter and son-in-law, doing yard work and gardening, tending to his birds – Pavarotti and Puccini – or hunting for pheasant with his son and nephew, Steve. He loved animals, especially dogs; his first, Tasha whom he spent years hunting with, later Grover and Gracie, and of course Bear and Benji who waited patiently on the daily for Pappou to give them "cookies". Aleko was a great friend to everyone he met. He truly never met a stranger.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Loula, and his children Eliza & Kosta. His son-in-law, Jerry, and his grandchildren, Alexis & Dyanna, and his daughter-in-law, Joanna. He was the best Pappou, husband, father, and brother to Serena Vandoros, Haralambos Loukeris, and his wife Athena, the late Angelo Loukeris, and his wife Augusta, the late Areti Antonatos and her husband, Stefanos. Brother-in-law of the late Lukas Vandoros. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends here and in Greece.
From his family: Kalo parathiso, kai prostasia se mas ollous
